8 piece knife set

8 piece knife set

8 Piece Knife Set Manufacturer & Wholesale Supplier

Eight pieces is where a knife set becomes a counter display. There is room for every blade a home cook reaches for, plus the things that keep those blades working: scissors, a sharpener, and somewhere to put it all.

YJCookbest has built knife sets in Yangjiang, Guangdong since 2006, and eight-piece sets are one of the largest families in our range. Our catalogue covers hollow-handle stainless steel sets, forged sets with ABS handles and Damascus steel sets.

What makes an eight-piece offer different from a six- or seven-piece one is how many decisions it holds. Eight pieces can be six knives and a steel, five knives with scissors and a sharpener, or eight knives in a roll. The holder can be a plain stand, a hardwood block with a built-in sharpener, or a case. We make all of these, and we rebuild any of them around your market through our OEM and ODM service. Send us the pieces you want in the box and a target price, and we reply with a quotation and a sample plan.

D-D002B and HS2010

D-D002B is a block set built around a built-in sharpener. It holds a 7" cleaver, an 8" chef knife, a 7" and a 5" santoku, a 3.5" paring knife and kitchen scissors, with 3Cr14 stainless steel blades and forged ABS handles. Because the sharpener sits in the wooden block, customers hone the knives every time they put them away, and your listing gets a feature that cheaper sets lack. Two santoku sizes also give the set a clear Asian-style kitchen identity.

HS2010 takes the opposite approach: six knives, no scissors. An 8" chef, 8" bread, 5" santoku, 4.5" steak, 5" utility and 3.5" paring knife come with a 7" sharpening steel and a knife holder, all on one-piece hollow stainless steel handles. The seamless handle is easy to clean and light in the hand, and the 4.5" steak knife lets the same set cover the dinner table. It suits buyers who want a wide knife range at a value price.

Eight-Piece Models by Style

Hollow-handle stainless steel is the largest family and the usual entry price. The handle and bolster are a single seamless piece, which keeps the set light and easy to clean. HS2013, HS4039, HS2068, HS3030, HS3029, HS2036, HS2029, HS2018, HS2017 and HS2004. Browse all hollow handle knife sets.

Forged sets have blades made from one piece of steel through the bolster, with more weight and a better balance. They sit in the mid-to-upper price range. HS1019, HS1018, HS1017, HS1016, HS1015, HS1014, HS1013, HS1012 and HS1008. Browse all forged handle knife sets.

Damascus steel is the gift and premium tier, with a patterned blade and usually a wood or resin handle. See HS2002 and the full Damascus steel knife sets.

A Knife-by-Knife Guide

The knives in an eight-piece set are chosen for different jobs.

Chef knife (8"). The main blade for chopping, slicing and dicing, and the first knife Western customers look for. It is almost always in the set.

Santoku (5"–7"). A shorter, flatter blade with a rounded tip, made for thin slicing of vegetables, fish and boneless meat. A 7" santoku is a main blade in its own right, and a 5" one works as a mid-size utility. Many sets carry both sizes, as D-D002B does.

Cleaver (7"). A heavy rectangular blade for chopping through meat and dense vegetables. It is essential in Asian kitchens and a differentiator on Western shelves.

Carving or slicing knife (8"). A long, narrow blade for roasts, cooked meat and large fruit. It earns its place in sets sold for family dinners.

Bread knife (8"). A serrated edge that saws through crusts without crushing the crumb. It is also the best tool for tomatoes and soft-skinned fruit.

Boning knife (6"). A narrow, flexible blade for removing bone and trimming meat and poultry. It is standard in catering and professional sets.

Utility knife (5"). The in-between blade for sandwiches, fruit and small vegetables, used for the jobs a chef knife is too large for. It may be plain or serrated.

Steak knife (4.5"–6"). A table knife with a plain or serrated edge, included when the set doubles as a dining set, as in HS2010.

Paring knife (3.5"–4"). A short blade for peeling, trimming and detail work.

Sharpening steel (7"–10") or built-in sharpener. Keeps the edges working between sharpenings.

Kitchen scissors (8"). For herbs, poultry, packaging and everything a knife is not suited to.

A set that carries a steel and scissors usually drops a specialist knife to stay at eight pieces. A set built for butchery or catering drops the scissors and adds a boning knife. Lengths, blade profiles and edge geometry can be changed to match what your customers cook.

Matching the Set to the Customer

Supermarkets and homeware chains need a clear contents count, a box that sells itself and quality that holds across repeat orders. A block set with scissors and a built-in sharpener, like D-D002B, gives shoppers a recognisable bundle at a clear price.

Private label brands take the closest standard model and change the knife mix, handle colour, block and packaging until the set belongs to one brand only.

Catering and culinary schools want a roll bag or case with boning, fillet and utility knives plus a steel, rather than a decorative block.

Gift and promotional buyers look for Damascus blades, Pakka wood or resin handles and a wooden or leather case, which give a premium look at a mid-range price.

Finishes and Coatings

Satin and mirror polish give a classic look. Stonewash hides small scratches. Titanium coating gives a gold or black appearance. Non-stick, Teflon® and DLC coatings help food release and add corrosion resistance. A black hammered finish gives the blade a rugged, modern look. We apply these in-house and match the colour to the handle and holder.

A project starts with a brief of your market, price target, set list and quantity. We reply with sketches, reference photos or 3D renderings of the blade, handle and holder, you test a sample, and production starts after tooling and materials are approved. Custom sets typically take 30–40 days. An in-house R&D lab of 15 engineers handles the design, including antibacterial coatings, ergonomic grips and AI-assisted sharpness testing, and a dedicated project manager is your single contact from inquiry to shipment.

Packaging and Export Data

A good box for an eight-piece set shows all eight pieces, their sizes and the brand, and it protects the blades during shipping. We print colour boxes, window boxes, gift boxes, wooden cases, EVA cases, Oxford bags, blister packs and inner trays with your artwork, and we prepare export cartons with your shipping marks and barcode. Labels can carry your customers' language and the care instructions.

Each quotation includes the packing list, carton size, packing quantity and net and gross weight, so your forwarder and your product listings use the same figures.

How We Make and Check Every Set

All of it happens in our own factory: steel is checked on arrival, blades are blanked or forged, heat treated, ground and sharpened, handles are fitted, finishes and logos are applied, and the set is packed. Twelve production lines give us more than seven million pieces of annual capacity and over one million a month at peak, so a 10-set trial and a container order go through the same process. Every order ends with a 100% pre-shipment inspection of edge, handle fit, finish, logo and packing against the approved sample.

Certificates by Market

We hold BSCI, FDA and LFGB certificates. LFGB is the food-contact test that German and EU retailers usually ask for, FDA covers food-contact compliance for the United States, and BSCI is the factory audit that supermarket chains look for. Tell us the destination market and the model, and we send the matching documents and test reports.

MOQ, Samples and Lead Time

Trial orders start from 10 sets, and production scales from there to mass orders with more than one million pieces a month of capacity. Ready-made samples ship in 2–5 days. Custom sets typically take 30–40 days after the sample and packaging are approved. Several models can go into a single order.

Care Advice You Can Pass On

Hand washing with mild detergent and drying straight away keeps blades bright and edges sharp. Dishwashers dull edges and can damage handles and blocks, so we recommend against them. Use a wooden or plastic board rather than glass or stone, store the knives in the block, stand or roll, and use the sharpener or steel regularly. We can print these instructions on the box or an insert in your customers' language.
